Råkvåg is a coastal community in Mid-Norway. This small village was for hundreds of years one of the most important herring-fishing communities in Norway.
Today it is preserved more or less like it was by 1960, when the herring fisheries collapsed. During the last decade it has been advertised by NORTRA as one of the 20 most beautiful tourist destinations in Norway.
The new local development association, Råkvåg Development, has launched an ambitious plan for family tourist activities. To help accomplish this plan young visitors from many countries are especially invited this summer (see INITIATIVES on this page or take a look at Supporter Website).
